As the years pass, all we need to achieve is there, in the beginning, ready to be rediscovered. The deepest secret, the greatest prize and the holiest of grails is contained there, where it has always been, within our existence, the essence of our being, our soul, our heart our precious breath, this precious moment.

The first decade of the 21st Century is waning away and a new one is about to begin. Is there a beginning or ending of any year or it is just going on gaining wisdom and experience as we tread along. But the ending of each year remind us of what we'd forget and year-beginning forecasts our future plans, projections and resolutions. But all good resolutions also fade away in oblivion after we overcome over New Year celebrations. At SAJTH things are not like that, I remember the year, 2008 when the journal took off, skepticism had enveloped me throughout the year, but as the readership grew I gradually gained a sense of satisfaction for having the job well done, then came the second issue, the third and now it is the fourth one in your hands. Time flies, they say, and it does fly very fruitfully for the team of SAJTH, its editorial board, referees, contributors and above all admirers all over the globe. Admirers for SAJTH are ever growing in number and their suggestions and recommendations always encourage us. It gives us an opportunity to rediscover our inner spirit and the goal with which we had embarked on a journey. The journal has addressed to complex and challenging issues related to tourism, culture, heritage, climate change and bio-diversity. The issues addressed have surely raised several pertinent questions and we all know that such issues have no quick answers. But what is more important for us is not just look for answers but look for serious remedies, measures and solution in order to ensure sustainable development and coexistence. May it be that then we can think of achieving a precious moment of living. It is well said by one of my acquaintances, that 'nobody can go back and start a new beginning but one can start today to make a new ending.' Isn't it more meaningful!

We at Centre for Tourism and Heritage Research, Dayanand College, Ajmer wish you all a very Happy New Year 2011, happy readings....
